Why we love it
Two huge mountains linked by the Peak 2 Peak gondola, coastal powder, alpine bowls and a buzzing village at the bottom.
Getting there
Vancouver International Airport is about 125 km away, roughly two hours by road along the scenic Sea-to-Sky Highway. Shuttle buses run several times a day from the airport and downtown Vancouver straight to Whistler Village.
Who it's for
Whistler Blackcomb suits every level. Beginners have dedicated learning areas on both mountains, intermediates can cruise hundreds of groomed runs, and advanced skiers will find alpine bowls, glades and steep chutes like Couloir Extreme and Spanky's Ladder.
Best time to go
January to March has the best snow on the upper mountain. The village sits at only 675 m, so the lower slopes can be wet early and late in the season, while the alpine stays snowy. Blackcomb often stays open into late May.
